Matej Bel University is a public university which achieved university status repeatedly in 2010 and is a member of the European University Association. At the moment, Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica (UMB), is the leading university in Central Slovakia. The university offers a classic range of university education opportunities at all three levels and forms of studies in the areas of education, social issues, economy, law, politics, humanities and natural sciences, in the fields of international relations, economic specializations and mathematics. In the project, the researchers from the Faculty of Economics are involved. The Faculty of Economics of Matej Bel University belongs to stabilized and fully-fledged higher education institutions in Slovakia. At present the Faculty has approximately 1,500 students. The faculty delivers study programmes in four areas – public economics and publicy policy; tourism; corporate economics and management; finances, banking and investments.
